The Descendants of
Henry Odum
and
Rosamond Summer
Wayne County, Georgia
1838 - 1920
Henry W. Odum, son of James Odum and Mary Thomas, was born on 10 Sep 1838 in Georgia, died before 1914 in Georgia, and was buried in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Wayne County, Georgia.
Henry married Rosamond Summer, daughter of Holland H. Summer (or Sumner) and Elizabeth, about 1856. Rosamond was born in 1835 in Georgia, died before 1920 in Georgia, and was buried in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Wayne County, Georgia. They had nine children: Mary, Godfrey Washington, Leaston Van Buren, Joseph Allen, Nancy, William Kinchen, Enoch H., Barbara, and Stonewall Jackson.
There is a possibility that the second child, Godfrey Washington Odum, might be the son of Henry's brother, Issac Odum. Godfrey's 1927 death certificate lists both his parents as "unknown" and that information was provided by his son, Godfrey, Jr. This suggests that he may have been raised by someone other than his biological parents.
Henry and Rosamond's children and their descendants are shown on the Odum family tree. 1
